THE RED ROOM
Creative direction, brand activations, and nightlife documentary photography developed within an established hospitality ecosystem. Rather than an identity reboot, our work unlocked high-concept narrative altitude for The Red Room: orchestrating collaborations with international distillers (Fernet-Branca, iichiko, Nosotros, Bar Agricole), crafting ephemeral menu universes spanning 8-bit arcade nostalgia to mid-century Scandinavian holiday warmth, and documenting the atmospheric drama of Fresno's premier craft cocktail sanctuary in 35mm fidelity.
CREATIVE DIRECTION INSIDE AN ESTABLISHED BRAND
Not a Rebrand — An Elevation
The Red Room already possessed a devoted clientele and a recognized Art Deco geometric wordmark. Our role was not to redesign what worked, but to provide high-altitude creative direction: architecting consistent visual storytelling, documenting on-location atmosphere in rich 35mm film tones, and elevating routine bar ephemera into collectible graphic artifacts.
Spirits Brand Partnership Magnetism
Top-tier distillers rarely co-brand with local venues unless the creative execution matches their own international standards. We crafted custom, concept-driven visual identities for marquee spirit collaborations—from Japanese Bauhaus geometry for iichiko to surrealist vintage woodcuts for Fernet-Branca—cementing The Red Room as a premier destination for premier distillers.
Eclectic Ephemeral Menu Worlds
Cocktail menus in world-class bars are tactile cultural objects. We treated each seasonal rollout as a distinct subcultural universe: an 8-bit NES arcade cartridge for the Nostalgia Menu, mid-century Scandinavian festive cheer for the Winter Holiday list, and a constructivist cubist mixologist for Industry Night with Bar Agricole.
ATMOSPHERIC PALETTE & TYPOGRAPHY HIERARCHY
The visual identity operates at the intersection of nocturnal intimacy and bold graphic modernism. Deep crimson ambient light meets warm back-bar incandescent amber and tactile off-white paper textures, framed by geometric Art Deco typography.

THE COLLABORATION VAULT
When global spirits brands collaborate with The Red Room, we build custom visual universes that celebrate their unique brand equity while maintaining The Red Room's nocturnal sophistication.
iichiko Shochu × The Red Room Modernist Grid
Created for an exclusive partnership with Japan's premier distilled spirit. The poster deconstructs iichiko's iconic fluted bottle silhouette into a rigorous 12-block Bauhaus grid, pairing modular typography with geometric coupe glasses, rising effervescence, and fluted pillar motifs on soft shochu blush parchment.
Industry Night feat. Bar Agricole
Drawing inspiration from mid-century graphic masters and Saul Bass, this promotional piece features a sharp geometric mixologist in bowtie and apron, pouring a vivid stream from a faceted shaker across a stippled plaster texture.
Red Room Turns One Anniversary
Geometric circular typography sweeping along a bold red arc, balancing minimalist coupe iconography and structured typographic stripes across tactile plaster grounds.
The Gentleman Alligator
Celebrating two years of service with Fernet-Branca, pairing 19th-century engraving absurdity with mid-century cocktail glyphs on wrinkled stationery.
The Soaring Eagle
Companion digital story paying tribute to the Fernet-Branca eagle delivering a chilled bottle into an oversized graphic coupe with floating polka dots.
Nosotros: Perched Toucan
Bespoke cocktail menu spot illustration. The geometric origami toucan perches on a sparkling coupe rim, celebrating artisanal agave craft.
Nosotros: The Rail Trio
Three graduated origami toucans lined up along a bar rail beneath a citrus squeezer shower, adding playful character to the tasting program.
TACTILE ARTIFACTS & SEASONAL COVERS
Craft cocktail culture thrives on surprise. We designed limited-run seasonal menu covers and holiday artifacts that transformed each visit into an unexpected cultural encounter.
The 8-Bit "Nostalgia Menu" Cover
A pixel-perfect love letter to classic 8-bit platformers. The cover reimagines mixology through Nintendo tropes: an 8-bit mixologist jumping on pipe platforms, citrus garnishes rendered as angry Goombas, cocktail shaker power-ups, and mystery drink question-blocks.
Winter Holiday Program 2024
Steering clear of holiday clichés, the Winter Menu channels 1960s Scandinavian modernism with stylized geometric fir trees, a distinguished snowman in a gentleman's top hat, retro starburst baubles, and zig-zag ribboned gift parcels in crimson and charcoal.
New Year's Eve 2024: "Shaking Tins & Live Music"
Framed within an illustrated mid-century rabbit-ear console television on slender tripod legs, this NYE announcement features a dapper tuxedo-clad waiter balancing vintage spirits across silver service, announcing an evening of live music and craft cocktail celebration.
TACTILE DETAIL & CULINARY MOMENTS
Authentic brand worlds require authentic imagery. Shot on location with a cinematic 35mm aesthetic, our photography captures the tactile craft of the venue—from the glowing spirit shelves of Italian amari to the meticulous plating of bar fare.
The Back-Bar Spirit Library
Lit by warm incandescent vanity globes against dark walnut cabinetry, honoring The Red Room's deep botanical and bitter spirits curation: Averna, Braulio, Borghetti, Branca Menta, Fernet-Branca, Chartreuse, Brucato, and Montenegro.
Artisan Bar Fare Plating
Close-up kitchen pass documentary capturing freshly toasted sourdough topped with creamy burrata, bright herb pesto, and blistered roasted cherry tomatoes under directional prep lighting.
Signature Crimson Libation
Cinematic cocktail editorial capturing the venue's house creation in fluted crystal over dark polished marble, balancing botanical depth and garnet luminescence under ambient bar lighting.
